Redbird XC's Sinclair Travels To Compete At NCAA Championships

Graduate William Sinclair is set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 23 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin at 10:00 am CST.

NORMAL, Ill. - Graduate William Sinclair is set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 23 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course in Madison, Wisconsin at 10:00 am CST. The men's and women's races will be available to watch on ESPNU or the ESPN app.

Sinclair earned automatic qualification to the event after his ninth-place finish in the 10k at the NCAA Midwest Regionals. Sinclair ran a time of 29:19.99 which set a new Illinois State record in the 10k race and became the first Redbird to record a 10k time under the 30-minute mark. Additionally, Sinclair now holds the program's 8k and 10k records.

Sinclair will be the first Redbird to compete at the NCAA Championships since Kevin Koski appeared at the title meet in 2021. Tomorrow, Sinclair will become the 25th men's runner to race at the NCAA title meet in Illinois State history.

After claiming the individual title in the MVC Championship meet earlier this month, Sinclair will be the Valley's only representative at the NCAA Championships this year. In addition, Sinclair is the Valley's first men's qualifier since 2022.
