SPRING CAMP REPORT: Red Team Wins Final Scrimmage
NORMAL, Ill. – It was a perfect day for football on Saturday at Hancock Stadium, as the Redbird football team enjoyed one of the nicest days of late and capped off their spring workouts with the annual spring scrimmage in front of Redbird fans, family and alumni.
The scrimmage featured four quarters, with 15-minute running clocks except for the final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters. The game was a low-scoring one, as the Red team picked up a 10-0 win over the White squad.
Scoring Summary:
• After a scoreless first quarter, the first points of the day came off the foot of kicker Michael Cosentino who drilled a 44-yard field goal to put the Red team up 3-0.
• The only other score of the game would come in the third quarter, when Seth Glatz scored from 17 yards out to make the score 10-0.
