Redbird Quartet Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors
NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State quartet of Johnny Kinziger, Ty Pence, Landon Wolf, and Dalton Banks have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District squad, with Kinziger being named as an Academic All-America finalist.
Kinziger, a native of De Pere, Wisconsin, is second on the Redbirds this season in scoring, averaging 14.7 points per game with 96 assists and 76 made three-pointers and a percentage of .394. He was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference Second Team prior to the MVC Tournament and has scored in double-figures 28 times in 33 games this season.
Pence, a sophomore from St. Joseph, Illinois, averages 7.1 points per game. He averages 3.9 rebounds per game and has given out 48 assists and has 21 steals while shooting 51 percent from the field, 34 percent from three-point range, and 83 percent from the charity stripe on the year.
Wolf, a redshirt junior out of Cedar Falls, Iowa, earns his third career CSC Academic All-District honor, and averages 6.7 points with 105 rebounds and 26 assists on the season, as he has made 39 three-point field goals with a percentage of 36.4.
A senior and Eau Claire, Wisconsin, native, Banks was named to the All-Missouri Valley Conference All-Defensive Team and his 61 steals this season is tied for the third-highest single-season total in school history. He averages 10.2 points per game on the year, with 134 assists and 119 rebounds, while making 49.8 percent of his shots from the field on the year.
The Redbirds, with a 20-14 record on the season, face off on Tuesday evening against the UIW Cardinals in the semifinals of the 2025 College Basketball Invitational.
