WNIT Great 8 Tickets On Sale Now
NORMAL, Ill. – Following a 78-68 win over Abilene Christian Thursday night at Shirk Center, Illinois State women's basketball will host Louisiana Tech Monday at 6 p.m. in the WNIT Great 8 inside CEFCU Arena. Tickets are on sale now at goredbirds.com/tickets.
The two programs are set to meet for the eighth time all-time and the third time in the postseason. Monday will mark the second meeting between the programs in the WNIT, joining a 73-59 win for the Redbirds inside CEFCU Arena in 2009. The Redbirds traveled to Ruston in the 1985 NCAA Tournament, falling 81-57.
Monday's winner will advance to play North Dakota State or Troy in the WNIT Fab 4. Date, time and location of that matchup are to be announced.
ABOUT THE WNIT
The 2024 field features a 48-team field that includes 11 automatic qualifiers and 37 at-large selections chosen after consideration of a mix of criteria by WNIT officials. There are 22 teams that won 20 or more games this season, which includes the 23-win Redbirds. All games are set to be hosted on campus sites. The 2025 WNIT Championship is Saturday, April 5 at 3 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network.
