Hot Stretches by Yun and Paradis See ISU Stay in Fourth at More Than Golf Invitational
AIKEN, S.C. – With both Jinyoung Yun and Lory Paradis putting together impressive birdie stretches mid-round, the Illinois State women's golf team remained in fourth place through the second of three rounds at the 2025 More Than Golf Invitational.
With the second-round 301, the Redbirds maintained their fourth place standing with a 605, trailing 36th-ranked Georgia Southern (584), Dartmouth (593), and Delaware (600), while Columbia (609), East Tennessee State (610), Kennesaw State (622), Georgetown (622), Oakland (624), Charleston Southern (625), tournament host Augusta (637), and Albany (652) round out the dozen schools in the field.
Yun finished her second round with an even-par 73, using an eight-hole stretch in which she had an eagle, four birdies and two pars, to go from five strokes over par to back even, as she cruised into the finish of the round with back-to-back pars for the even-par round. Her strong round saw her raise seven spots in the individual standings.
Paradis closed her front nine with four consecutive birdies, making the turn at one shot under par. She added a birdie and five pars over her back nine to close her round with a one-over-par 74 and is tied for 20th overall.
ISU two-round individual leader Morgan Jones had a birdie and 13 pars in her second round, and heads to the final round with an even-par 146, tied for fifth place in the field.
Freshman golfers Elise Fennell and Alex Sparrow are each tied for 33rd as both have a 36-hole score of 157. In the second round, Sparrow – playing as an individual – had a birdie and a dozen pars for a four-over 77, while Fennell also had a birdie and 12 pars for her five-over 78. Jessica Jolly had a birdie and six pars for her second-round 89.
The six ISU golfers head back out on the course for the third and final round of the tournament starting at 7:40 a.m. (CT) as the team will tee off for the shotgun start second round on holes six through nine.
