Redbirds Earn Senior Night Win Over Southeast Missouri State
NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State got off to a hot start and never looked back against Southeast Missouri State on Saturday night, as the Redbirds scored big on their first two routines to run away with a 195.875-193.250 victory over the Redhawks on Senior Night at CEFCU Arena in the regular-season finale.

"I am so happy for the team and especially for the seniors for a strong meet tonight. We still have some things to work on before the MIC conference championship on Friday, but the team is determined to improve and I'm looking forward to getting back in the gym with them on Monday to get ready to compete for a championship."
Team Notes:
• The Redbirds got off to a great start, as they posted a 48.975 on vault to take an early advantage over the Redhawks.
• In rotation No. 2, the Redbirds posted their highest score of the season on bars with a 49.175, which is the second-highest score on bars in school history. The combined vault/beam score to start the meet of 98.150 is also the second highest in program history.
• ISU held pace and scored a 48.700 on beam to take a strong lead into the final rotation on floor.
• The Redbirds finished the meet with a 49.075 on floor to post a total of 195.875, the second highest team score of the season.

Gymnast Notes:
• The Redbirds took the top four spots on vault, with Jaye Mack taking the top spot with a 9.875. She was followed by fellow senior Alana Laster in second (9.850), senior Mya Robinson in third (9.800) and Sammie Wolff in fourth (9.750).
• Senior Sara Wabi and Reese Grolla tied for the event win on bars with scores of 9.875. Jada Beswick was third with a score of 9.850 and Jaly Jones was fifth with a 9.800.
• Grolla also took the event win on beam, as she topped the field with a score of 9.875 as Laster and Mack tied for fourth place with scores of 9.750.
• Mack joined Grolla as a multiple event winner, as she won on floor with a 9.875. Laster (9.825), Robinson (9.800) and Wabi (9.775) rounded out the top four for the Redbirds.

The Redbirds will head to Shreveport, Louisiana, on Friday, March 21, in search of a conference title as they compete against host Centenary, Southeast Missouri State and Texas Woman's at the Midwest Independent Conference Championship. Meet time is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT at the Gold Dome.
