Redbird Volleyball to Host Final Home Match of 2024
NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State volleyball wraps up the 2024 regular season with a match up against their I-74 foe, Bradley, on Wednesday.
First serve between the Redbirds and the Braves is set for 6 p.m. from CEFCU Arena.

Illinois State senior setter Mekaila Aupiu remains atop Division I in assists this year with 1,252.
She's the only player in the MVC, and one of just 13 in the country, with 1,100-plus assists. She is the first Redbird to have more than 1,000 assists in a single season since 2019 (Stef Jankiewicz).
LEADING THE VALLEY
In conference contests, Illinois State has dished out a league-leading 762 assists.
Overall, as of Nov. 18, Illinois State leads the MVC in team kills (1,610) and team assists (1,495), ranking second and fourth, respectively, in the nation.
WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Illinois State junior Aida Shadewald eclipsed the 1,000-career kill mark during Illinois State's four-set match vs Drake on October 19.
Shadewald becomes the 23rd Redbird with 1,000+ career kills.
1K DOWN, PLENTY TO COME
Illinois State senior Mekaila Aupiu became the 19th Redbird to surpass 1,000-career assists during Illinois State's five-set match at Evansville on November 1.
Aupiu finished the match with 52 assists, as she sits 14th all-time in ISU Volleyball history with 1,252 assists so far in 2024.
THE MVC TOURNAMENT AWAITS
With a win on Wednesday, Illinois State will secure a top-four seed in the upcoming 2024 MVC Championships, held on the campus of UNI, from November 23-26.
2024 will mark Illinois State's 41st MVC Tournament appearance as the Redbirds have won 13 MVC Tournament titles, while collecting five runner-up finishes as well.
