AZUSA, Calif. – The Illinois State track & field team wrapped up the Bryan Clay Invitational at Cougar Athletic Stadium Thursday evening.
In the morning session, Junior Maggie Reed entered the top-10 list for the women's 5000m after running a time of 16:49.83. Reed now sits eighth in program history for the event. On the men's side, Junior Yusuf Baig recorded a top-10 mark with a time of 14:02.20 and currently sits seventh in Redbird history. Graduate Nick Doud ran a personal best time of 14:18.31, and Zack Loomis ran a time of 14:15.17 in the evening section.
As the afternoon section kicked off, Sophomore Grace Erb and Sophomore Colleen Zeibert competed for the Redbirds in the women's 800m invite. Erb finished with a time of 2:11.13, and Zeibert recorded a mark of 2:11.17.
On the men's side, Freshman Julian Baker and Sophomore Kane Shields battled out for Illinois State. Baker led the Redbirds with a time of 1:51.10 as Shields finished with a time of 1:51.51, a new personal best.
