Then and Now: Nursing education
Nursing education methods and spaces have evolved in the 100-plus-year history of Mennonite College of Nursing.
Mennonite College of Nursing and Illinois State University celebrated their 25th anniversary together last year, but local nursing education can be traced back to Mennonite’s founding in 1919. The methods and spaces for nursing education have changed dramatically over the past century, above left circa 1945, while a commitment to preparing health care professionals has remained a constant. An enhanced and renamed Mennonite College of Nursing Simulation Center, above right, reopened last fall as the facility nearly tripled in size with a 16,000-square-foot addition.
