United Faculty at Illinois State University (UFISU) announced Monday that it had "overwhelmingly" voted to ratify its first union collective bargaining agreement.
The announcement came after the union reached a tentative agreement with University administration on April 4.
UFISU posted to Instagram that the full text of the tentative agreements will remain on its website for now. The union will begin working with ISU to finalize the order and format of the contract, which will then be posted to both ISU's Human Resources website and its own website.
UFISU organizers will begin writing the union's constitution and bylaws over the summer and have elections for leadership positions during the fall semester.
Anyone interested in getting involved are encouraged to email unitedfacultyISU@gmail.com.
