Scoring 14 of the final 18 points in the third set, the Illinois State Redbirds came from behind in the final set to secure a sweep over the Indiana State Sycamores in the opening MVC match of the season for each of the teams.

The Illinois State Cross Country squad competed in the seventh-annual Gans Creek Classic on Friday morning. The men's squad took eighth in the Black Invite among 26 teams, while the women earned sixth out of 27 teams.

For the second weekend in a row, the Illinois State women's tennis team will play host to a fall tournament at the Gregory Street Courts. This time, however, it will serve as a Missouri Valley Conference preview as each league team  will come to Normal in what is set to be replacement for the MVC Individual Championships previously held every year by the conference.
