National Non-traditional Student Week: Celebrating Pathways, Building Connections
Join the Dean of Students Office for the Non-traditional Student Breakfast + Resource Fair on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 8:30–11:00 AM in Prairie Room III, Bone Student Center, hosted during National Non-traditional Student Week (November 3-7).
 At ISU, non-traditional students are a growing and thriving population—including adult learners, transfer students, parents, veterans, and others balancing academics with work, family, and community commitments.  
 
This program will spotlight the Tina and Mick Rowe Scholarship for Non-traditional Students, and feature guest speaker Dr. Stacey Wiggins (School of Social Work), a leading voice and advocate for non-traditional student success. This program was designed in direct response to feedback from scholarship applicants who shared challenges with building networks and accessing resources that support success. 
 
Program Highlights 


Light breakfast and networking with non-traditional students and campus/community partners 


Official launch point for the Tina and Mick Rowe Scholarship for Nontraditional Students


Keynote address by Dr. Stacey Wiggins (School of Social Work) 


Resource Fair featuring ISU offices and community organizations 


 
We invite your office to support this program by: 


Contributing to the Redbird Life Resource Table with branded giveaways or informational handouts (up to 25) 


Hosting a resource table to directly connect with non-traditional student attendees 


Attending the program to learn more about ISU’s non-traditional student community 


Sharing the program with non-traditional students in your department's community and networks to spread the word about the recognition week and resources.
