- LocationSchroeder Hall Room 244
- DescriptionJoin the ACLU-ISU Chapter for our panel-based Q&A on Environmental Racism & Climate Change in Schroeder Hall Room 244 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM!
This program will focus on exploring the nexus between environmental degradation, structural racism, and climate change that has shaped the lived experiences of communities of color for centuries and continues to do so today. Our discussion will also highlight, among other related topics, how communities and nonprofits are building a path forward through organization and advocacy.
The event will consist of a moderated panel discussion and an audience Q&A. The panelists featured will include ISU faculty experts on environmental concerns: Dr. Keith Pluymers from the Department of History; Dr. Eric Godoy from the Department of Philosophy; and Dr. Alec Foster and Dr. Melissa Heil from the Department of Geography, Geology, & the Environment.
This discussion is being held in coordination with the Department of Geography, Geology, and the Environment, and it will also feature SustainableSTATE's pop-up free coffee stand, which provides sustainably sourced & socially responsible coffee in partnership with Heady Cup Coffee Roasters. SustainableSTATE accepts optional donations to continue advancing its environmental advocacy work and sustainability initiatives in the community.
This is a program you don't want to miss, and we cannot wait to see you there!
