- DescriptionThis meeting will detail information for educators to learn and familiarize themselves with queer identities, and how to react to them in the classroom. This event is open for anyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who plan to create a safe space for LGBTQIA+ people in a classroom. We will also be giving away Safe Space pins, rainbow ISU lanyards, and more! Snacks and drinks will also be provided.

- Nov 122:00 PMTrans Resilience ColloquiumQueer Coalition, Illinois State's sponsored LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff, and graduate student affinity group, and the Department of Psychology are coming together to host an interdisciplinary Trans Resilience Colloquium on Wednesday, November 12 from 2-4 p.m. in 401 Stevenson Hall. An informal reception will be held following the presentations. This year’s theme, Amplifying Trans Resilience: Reducing Disparities and Lifting Trans Voices, invites participants and attendees to explore the many ways art and knowledge can serve as acts of resistance or help transgender individuals overcome obstacles. The Colloquium will feature short presentations, performances, and art showcases from students, faculty, and staff across disciplines. From psychology and sociology to creative writing and the performance arts, this event will highlight diverse approaches to understanding and celebrating trans experiences. Attendance is free, and all are welcome to join in celebrating scholarship, art, and the power of trans joy. Pre-registration is encouraged, especially for those who require accommodations.
