- DescriptionCome join us for our inaugural “Tea and DH” event, an opportunity to introduce yourself to Digital Humanities(/-interested) colleagues, as well as to discuss DH projects, practice, and ideas in a casual environment with tea and scones.
Each meeting, we will have a featured project or topic. For this meeting, Dr. Camille Cole, assistant professor of history, will talk about her project:
The Svoboda Diaries Project
The Svoboda Diaries Project (SDP) is a long-term student-run digital humanities project based at the University of Washington. The project focuses on an unusual body of sources from late Ottoman Iraq. In addition to preservation and dissemination, current SDP initiatives include TEI, geoparsing in non-English contexts, NER in relation to ideas about bodies and health, and social network analysis.
The presentation will last 10–15 minutes with time afterwards for questions and discussion.
