University Housing Services Cultural Dinner ft. Javier Muñoz

- DescriptionUniversity Housing Services is excited to present the Cultural Dinner featuring actor and activist Javier Muñoz on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the Brown Ballroom of the Bone Student Center.
Illinois State University’s Event Management, Dining, and Hospitality will cater the dinner and feature a variety of Puerto Rican fusion cuisines. Tickets for the dinner are available online for $25. Student meal plan holders may use a meal swipe to make a reservation in exchange for one meal. Tickets will be available until October 20 or until they are sold out.
Javier Muñoz is best known for starring and co-creating the role of "Alexander Hamilton'' as part of the original cast of HAMILTON on Broadway. He got his break starring as “Usnavi” in IN THE HEIGHTS on Broadway.
Javier currently stars in the independent, semi-autobiographical feature, BROWNSVILLE BRED, written and directed by Elaine Del Valle. He has starred in various independent features, including MONUMENTS, LOVE RECONSIDERED, and THREE MONTHS. Series credits include a lead voice character in Eureka, Shadowhunters, Blindspot, and Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Javier is also an outspoken activist for USAID and LGBTQ+ rights.
