- Mar 206:00 PMCampus Community Deliberative DialogueJoin the Center for Civic Engagement and its partners for an evening of conversation about our political system--A House Divided. What should we do to get the political system we want? What should we do to revive our ability to work together on the most urgent problems? What are we willing to give up in order to do so? We will use an National Issues Institute Forum issue guide that presents three options for deliberation about this difficult problems for which there are no perfect solutions. Each option offers advantages as well as risks. And each reflects different ways of understanding what is at stake, forcing us to think about what matters most to us. We will follow the Center for Civic Engagement's Deliberative Dialogue format and this time we invite the ISU campus community and the greater Bloomington-Normal community to join us in this critical conversation as the April 1 municipal elections approach. The event will take place on the 6th floor of Milner Library (southwest corner, taking the stairs up and entering straight and to the left or taking the elevator up, taking a right as you exit the elevator and then a left after you enter the main doors). This program is sponsored by the Center for Civic Engagement, Milner Library, The League of Women Voters of McLean County, the Bloomington-Normal NAACP and the Chi Beta Beta Chapter and Pi Beta Chapter, an unincorporated association of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated.
