- DescriptionThe Harnsberger/Jones Duo Live in Concert is sure to leave audiences intrigued and stunned by the beautiful and expressive yet powerful and demanding depth that the marimba evokes throughout a concert space. Each piece is tailored for The Duo and features a wide range of contemporary sounds. The Duo always begins their concerts with “In the Midst of Darkness” by Andy Harnsberger, the piece that was written for and led to the creation of the duo. This work features intensity, drama, and rhythmic interplay between the two instruments. After the listeners have a chance to breathe, we then bring in the brand-new piece, “Promises Broken” by Adam Silverman. This piece is a complete 180 from the opener, as it will bring in the subtleties of the instrument. It has been proven to be an audience favorite in recent months. Several more duo pieces will be featured, as well as powerful solos. Throughout the solos, the audiences have a chance to see each performer shine and showcase that the marimba can stand alone. Audiences are guaranteed to be exposed to new works and sounds throughout The Harnsberger/Jones Duo concert that will leave them pondering for days and weeks to come on the beauty of the marimba.
