Seniors Lead on Final Home Match of 2025
NORMAL, Ill. – Led by 13 and 11 kills from seniors Aida Shadewald and Hannah Reichensperger, and 17 digs from classmate Arianna Rossi, the Illinois State volleyball team swept past the Indiana State Sycamores on Saturday afternoon on senior day for ISU's four seniors on the roster.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set (25-19): ISU jumped out to leads of 3-0 and 5-1, and the Redbirds kept a firm grip on the lead in the six-point set win.
Second Set (25-20): Indiana State led for their only time in the match during the set, as the Sycamores led by four at 10-6 before ISU ran off seven consecutive points to push back to a lead that it would not give up for the remainder of the match.
Third Set (25-15): The third set saw ISU score three of the first four points, and never tie or trail in the period. The Redbirds steadily increased its lead behind an 81 percent side-out percentage to secure a second consecutive weekend sweep for the Redbirds.

- The game was the final scheduled home game for Illinois State seniors Arianna Rossi, Colleen Hege, Hannah Reichensperger, and Aida Schadewald

- Rossi's 17 digs are her 20th match this season with double-digit digs, including in each of her last six matches
- She added a team-high-tying two service aces in the contest
- Three other Redbirds: Ruth Ziegler (6), Logan Grevengoed (6), and Oliwia Caputa (5) each had more than five kills in the three-set contest
- Ella Craggs led the team with 18 assists, while Audrey Clark had 14 and Rossi five
- Two others, Shadewald and Caputa, had eight digs
