Illinois State Closes Road Slate at Belmont, Murray State
NASHVILLE, TN AND MURRAY, KY – The Illinois State volleyball team (13-15, 8-7 MVC) concludes its 2024 road slate with trips to Belmont and Murray State this weekend.
First serve between the Redbirds and the Bruins is set for 6 p.m. on Friday, while Saturday's contest against the Racers is slated for 5 p.m.

Illinois State senior setter Mekaila Aupiu remains atop Division I in assists this season with 1,151.
Aupiu is the only player in the MVC, and one of just 16 in the country, with 1,000-plus assists.
She is the first Redbird to have more than 1,000 assists in a single season since 2019 (Stef Jankiewicz).
LEADING THE VALLEY
In conference contests, Illinois State has dished out a league-leading 762 assists.
Overall, as of Nov. 13, Illinois State leads the MVC in team kills (1,484) and team assists (1,379), ranking third and fourth, respectively, in the nation.
WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Illinois State junior Aida Shadewald eclipsed the 1,000-career kill mark during the first set of Illinois State's four-set match vs Drake on October 19.
Shadewald finished the match with eight kills as she became the 23rd Redbird with 1,000+ career kills.
1K DOWN, PLENTY TO COME
Illinois State senior Mekaila Aupiu became the 19th Redbird to surpass 1,000-career assists during Illinois State's five-set match at Evansville on November 1.
Aupiu finished the match with 52 assists, as she sits 16th all-time in ISU Volleyball history with 1,151 assists so far in 2024.
THE MVC TOURNAMENT AWAITS
Illinois State continues to compete to be one of the final eight teams competing at the 2024 MVC Championships, held on the campus of UNI, from November 23-26.
