ISU Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame To Have Permanent Home In CEFCU Arena
NORMAL, Ill. – On Saturday, October 18, Illinois State Athletics announced at its annual ceremony to current and former Hall of Fame members, their families and friends that a permanent location will be installed soon for the Illinois State Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame inside CEFCU Arena.
The Illinois State Athletics Hall of Fame was formed in 1971 with the 17 members of the inaugural class. Every year since, Illinois State's best student-athletes, coaches, administrators and contributors have been inducted into the Hall of Fame to signify their extraordinary accomplishments to Illinois State Athletics and Illinois State University as a whole. In 2013, it was renamed the Illinois State Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame in recognition of many years of loyal support of Redbird Athletics from the Percy Family.
Now, the ISU Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame will have a permanent home inside of CEFCU Arena in early 2026.
Remarks from the Percy Family:
"The Percy family gives back to ISU Athletics to ensure every student-athlete has the opportunity to pursue a quality education and excel in their sport, as did the Percy Family. Supporting their journey means investing in the future of leaders, teammates, and champions."
The new installation curated by D1 Design Group will feature an interactive display, where fans, alumni and Hall of Famers can see pictures and their bio whenever they visit campus. Each year, the Percy Family Hall of Fame display will be updated with new content for the latest Hall of Fame inductees and will be bolstered with photos and video if available. The area will also feature graphics and signage that will honor the legacy of the Percy Family and all the Percy Family Hall of Fame honorees.
"The Percy Family Athletics Hall of Fame has been in need of a permanent home, and we are thrilled to announce it is coming to CEFCU Arena," Illinois State Director of Athletics Dr. Jeri Beggs said. "I can't thank the Percys enough for putting their name on this special group of individuals and I know our fans will love the final product. Our Hall of Fame recipients are the true legacy of Redbird Athletics, and now they will be seen by thousands of fans, community members, and students daily."
The 2025 class of the Illinois State Athletics Percy Family Hall of Fame was enshrined during this year's ceremony inside the Brown Ballroom at the Bone Student Center during Homecoming festivities at ISU. The 2025 class included: Robin Chapman (softball), two-time All-Gateway Conference First-Team selection and MVC All-Centennial Team member; Janelle (Crabtree) Knight (women's tennis), MVC All-Centennial Team member and single-season wins record holder; Akil Mills (men's track & field), three-time NCAA All-American and two-time MVC Champion; and Colton Underwood (football), two-time All-American and two-time finalist for the Buck Buchanan Award.
