Redbird Quartet Named to WGCA All-American Scholar List
Four members of the 2024-25 Illinois State women's golf team have been named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-Scholar-Athlete Team, announced by the WGCA. Jinyoung Yun, Lory Paradis, Morgan Jones, and Jessica Jolly were named to the academic list.
To be eligible for the list, student-athletes must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in half of the program's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year, nominated through the team's conference championship.
Yun, the MVC Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete of the Year, ended the season with a stroke average of 72.5, breaking her own Illinois State and Missouri Valley Conference single-season records. She was named the 2025 MVC Golfer of the Year, All-MVC, and was named to the MVC All-Tournament Team. This season she became just the third golfer in MVC history to earn Golfer of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons. She tied for fourth at the 2025 MVC Championship, and she has 18 rounds with a score at or under par. In 11 tournaments, she had nine top-10 finishes with one medalist honor.
Jones, the 2025 MVC Newcomer of the Year, was also named All-MVC and was named to the MVC All-Tournament Team. Her scoring average of 73.3 is second on the team this season, and second in the MVC. Her scoring average was the fourth lowest in the history of the MVC. In 33 rounds during the season, she had a dozen where her score was at or under par, while finishing in the top-10 in six of 12 events.
Paradis, a graduate transfer, completed her first and only season with ISU. During the year she averaged 74.6 strokes per round, fourth-best on the Redbirds, with nine rounds at or under par during the year. She placed sixth at the 2025 MVC Championship behind rounds of 78, 71, and 72, and had a score in the 70's in 32-of-33 rounds during the season, including a season-low 70 on October 22 at The Clash at Boulder Creek.
Jolly was named All-MVC last season after averaging 75.4 strokes per round, fifth-best on the squad, with 12 rounds at or under par and four top-10 finishes. She had three tournaments during the year in which her aggregate score was under par, including a then-ISU freshman record 210 (-6) at the Clash at Boulder Creek.
