Redbirds' Daniel Earns MVC Female Track Athlete Of The Week Honors
ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Missouri Valley Conference announced this week's Athlete of the Week selections Tuesday afternoon.
Sophomore Immaculate Daniel was selected as this week's MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week following her record-breaking performance at this past weekend's Normal Invite.
Daniel broke the Illinois State school record for the 100m dash with a time of 11.33. Her mark currently sits as the fastest in the Missouri Valley Conference and fourth in the Midwest region. Daniel's time also ranks as the 33rd quickest in the country at the NCAA Division I level.
Daniel now holds two Redbird records as she also broke the school record for the indoor 60m dash earlier this year at the Coughlan-Malloy Cup. For both performances, Daniel earned recognition as the MVC Female Track Athlete of the Week. Her recognition also marks the seventh time this season a Redbird has been selected as athlete of the week.
