NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State soccer head coach Raleigh DeRose added seven standouts from four different states and two different countries Wednesday on National Signing Day. Sophia Carbone (Danville, Calif.), Delia Garcia (Park Ridge, Ill.), Brooklyn Harding (Rochester Hills, Mich.), Rylann Law (Chatham, Ill.), Sofia Mammoliti (Hamilton, Ontario), Ashley Molinari (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Grace Petrie (Stratford, Conn.) all signed scholarship agreements to join Illinois State in the fall of 2025.

Sophia Carbone (Danville, Calif.) is a forward from Monte Vista High School and Mustang Soccer Club- ECNL on the club side. She was an All-league Honorable mention in 22-23 and All-league second team in 23-24 as a three-year team captain for Monte Vista. Carbone is the second Redbird to join Illinois State out of Danville, Calif., along with current freshman Kaya Durkee.

"Sophia is a strong center forward that can confidently fend off defenders and hold the ball up for her team," DeRose said. "Her back to goal abilities contribute to dangerous combination play in the final third.  In front of goal, Sophia has a strong shot and has the ability to play threatening crosses and entry balls into the box. Her talents lead her to consistently find herself on the board with a goal or assist. We look forward to seeing the contributions she will make to the team in the final third."

Delia Garcia (Park Ridge, Ill.) is a defender who will join Illinois State out of Maine South Township High School. On the club side Garcia played for FC United 2007 Girls Academy team, where she helped the team to a No.1 ranking for the Mid-America league in Girls Academy.

"Delia is a player with talent and experience coming to us from the Chicagoland area," DeRose said. "She is a fearless defender who takes pride in her defensive battles from the outside back position. She can be counted on to break up plays, run opponents down, and consistently do a job in the backline for her team.  In the attack, Delia is known to break lines to advance the ball into good spaces, get dangerous services into the box, and is opportunistic taking her shots and scoring from a defensive position. Delia will add attacking elements and depth to our defense."

Brooklyn Harding (Rochester Hills, Mich.) is the first prep goalkeeper to join DeRose and the Redbirds. She will come to Illinois State by way of Rochester Adams High School. She was a three-time Mid-American GA Talent ID selection and U.S. Futsal Women's National Team Training Camp call up on the club side.

"Brooklyn is a ranked and talented goalkeeper from the state of Michigan," DeRose said. "She is quick to make saves, has good reflexes, and is committed to competing each day. Brooklyn solves problems with her communication and has a leadership mindset and personality. In addition to her strong shot stopping abilities and her communication, Brooklyn is clinical on the ball and is quick to connect passes and help her team build by breaking lines or bypassing tight spaces when needed. We look forward to having Brooklyn here and contributing to our strong GK unit."

Rylann Law (Chatham, Ill.) is set to join Illinois State out of Glenwood High School, where she has helped the program to three conference championships and the 2023 IHSA 2A State title. The forward set the program's single-season goal record (42 goals), the program's single-game postseason goal record (5) and has earned a pair of All-state honors in her career.

"Rylann is a highly touted and ranked local product from the Springfield area," DeRose said. "She is a forward that has trademarked herself as a fast and distinguished goal-scorer that will be a contributing element to our front line. Rylann has the versatility and athleticism to play in both a central and/ or a flank position for our team. With her confidence in her 1v1 battles, explosive and dynamic runs off the ball, and aggressive nature in the box, Rylann's talents and instincts to find the back of the net will contribute to our attacking third play and front-line prowess."

Sofia Mammoliti (Hamilton, Ontario) will continue to add to the trend of Canaian flare on the Illinois State roster. The defender is set to be the seventh Canadian since 2016 to be a part of the program. Mammoliti will join current freshman Izzy Cameron (British Columbia) on the 2025 roster.

Sofia is a tough and technical defender coming to us from Canada," DeRose said. "Defensively, Sofia makes critical tackles to break up plays and keep her team in the game. She is quick to recover and gets behind the ball in moments of transition well. Her fierce character and competitive nature is felt when she is on the field as she is truly a player that wears her heart on her sleeve and gives all she has to her team.  Offensively, Sofia is sharp on the ball and is efficient and productive in tight spaces and in possession. Sofia will add depth and courage to our defensive group."

Ashley Molinari (Downers Grove, Ill.) is a defender out of Downers Grove South High School. She is a four-year varsity starter for the program, tallying 9 goals and 15 assists heading into the 2025 campaign. Last season she earned All-Conference and IHSSCA All-Sectional team honors while taking home the program's Offensive Player of the Year and Most Valuable Player awards.

"Ashley is a strong and tough defender coming to Normal from the Chicagoland area," DeRose said. "She is a player with a professional mindset and approach to the competitive game. Ashley is strong in the air and is a fierce defender that takes pride in defending with all she has. She takes good angles of approach to styme her opponents and is a consistent communicator and problem solver in the backline. In the attack, Ashley is confident taking her chances and playing penetrating passes and clipped balls into the box to get her team on the board. We look forward to seeing Ashley incorporate these defensive and offensive talents as they will add the elements of strength and depth and our backline."

Grace Petrie (Stratford, Conn.) will join Illinois State as a defender from Stratford High School. She earned All-Conference honors and was also an All-academic team selection in her career. She was a four-year varsity player and earned team captain for the program during her senior campaign.

"Grace is a strong, fast, and athletic defender coming to us from Connecticut," DeRose said. "She is a player that sits at the top of regional rankings for her work rate and commitment to defending with tenacity in her aerial challenges and her 1v1 battles. Grace covers ground on both sides of the ball and has an incredible engine to her game. From an attacking perspective, she has a good range of distribution from the back that can help a team bypass and break lines in possession and transition. Overall, Grace is a fearless defender with leadership experience that will add depth and grit to our back line."
