New Gameday Enhancements At CEFCU Arena This Basketball Season
NORMAL – The Illinois State Athletic Department is excited to announce exciting upgrades to the gameday experience at CEFCU Arena for the 2024-25 basketball season.
With an increased number of season ticket holders for both Redbird men's and women's basketball season, an emphasis was placed on improving overall in-game experience. This season will feature an in-game emcee, DJ Smalls, who will also serve as our in-game DJ with the assistance of several local DJs, including DJ Tuggs. This season will also feature several new promotions in coordination with both returning and new corporate partners. The ISU student section has also been expanded to include section 121 near the north baseline.
A notable change for fans heading to the concession stands will be the change from serving Pepsi to Coke. Season ticket holders will have access to a Season Ticket Holder Express Lane at each stand. Souvenir cups are also available for purchase and season ticket holders will be able to receive free refills when bringing their cup to the express lane. Additionally, fans can purchase the new Redbird Ale and Battle Bird Lager, a new partnership with DESTIHL, on the concourse. Fans can learn more about the partnership HERE.
Located in the South Concourse, there is a newly revamped Kid's Zone, presented by R.E.V. Energy, a product of CRAFTED that can be purchased at Illinois State Athletics events as well as CRAFTED. The new kids zone features upgraded pop-a-shots as well as yard games and activity sheets. The Kid's Zone is open through halftime of each home game.
In early December, Redbird fans will be treated to a brand-new Doug Collins Court in addition to new basketball stanchions. The new court was made possible by the support of generous ISU alumni and community members. In addition, as a thank you to our men's and women's basketball season ticket holders, basketball jersey ornaments will be given away at a game in December.
Both Redbird basketball teams return to CEFCU Arena on Sunday when they host a doubleheader. The women host Le Moyne at 2 p.m., before the men take on Trinity Christian at 4:30 p.m. One ticket purchase will allow access to both games, and fans needing to purchase tickets can do so by logging on to GoRedbirds.com/Tickets or by calling the ticket office at (309) 438-8000.
