Illinois State Fall in Extras to Valparaiso, 3-2
VALPARAISO, Ind. – Junior Tyrelle Chadwick shined in the Sunday start as Illinois State dropped a heartbreaking walk-off to Valparaiso, 3-2, on Sunday at Emory G. Bauer Field.
Chadwick recorded 8.1 innings, striking out five Beacons (8-19 overall, 3-6 MVC), as the junior allowed a run and seven hits across 118 pitches.
The Redbirds (14-16 overall, 6-3 MVC) finished with six hits on the afternoon.
Two Redbirds tallied multiple hits while freshman Brayden Bakes finished with a pair of RBIs Sunday.
