Illinois State Falls to Salukis, 14-5

Illinois State suffered a Saturday setback to Southern Illinois at Itchy Jones Stadium by a final of 14-5.

CARBONDALE, Ill. – Illinois State suffered a Saturday setback to Southern Illinois at Itchy Jones Stadium by a final of 14-5.

Illinois State (20-20 overall, 10-7 MVC) posted eight hits and two walks on the afternoon.

Southern Illinois improves to 29-13 overall, 11-6 MVC.

SCORING BREAKDOWN

Southern Illinois scored the game's first 12 runs, plating three in the 1st, two in the 2nd, four in the 3rd, and three in the 4th.

Illinois State scored five in the top of the 6th via singles from Brayden Bakes, Graham Mastros, Josh Outlaw, and Luke Stulga.

The Salukis added two runs in the bottom of the 8th for the 14-5 lead.
