Pacella, Morris Named CSC Academic All District

Illinois State baseball program sees a pair of Birds honored in senior Judah Morris and junior Daniel Pacella

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced July 1.

In order to qualify, student-athletes must have 3.50 cumulative GPA and be an important starter or reserve, meeting minimum playing time requirements. The maximum number of nominees per school is five.

Morris, a Mather, California, native is also one of three Redbirds that has started every game this season, playing first base. This season, Morris hit .298/.667/.466 with 16 doubles, 19 home runs, driving in 50 runs, and scoring 56 times. The senior was named Second Team All-Conference this season as well as being tabbed MVC Scholar-Athlete Second Team in 2024.

Pacella, from Mundelein, Illinois is one of three Redbirds that started every game this season, playing left field. This season en route to being named All-MVC First Team, Pacella slashed .355/.714/.429 with 19 doubles, two triples, 20 home runs, 59 RBIs, and 58 runs scored. Last season, he was selected to the Scholar-Athlete first team.
