Redbird Bats Explode In Run-Rule Win In Series Finale At Indiana State
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Just one day after being held to three runs, the Illinois State offense exploded for 12 runs on 15 hits on Saturday as the Redbirds won the series finale over Indiana State at Bob Warn Field by a score of 12-1 in seven innings.
The Redbirds jump to 27-26 overall, 15-12 MVC while the Sycamores drop to 24-30 overall, 12-15 MVC.
Scoring Breakdown:
- Illinois State plated two runs in the 1st with RBI singles from Judah Morris and Brayden Bakes
- The Sycamores got their first run of the afternoon in the 2nd with an RBI single
- Luke Stulga knocked out a three-run home run in the 4th to extend the lead to 5-1 for the Birds
- Four more Redbirds came to the plate in the 5th, including a solo shot from Daniel Pacella
- The final three runs of the game came in the 7th with an RBI single from Pacella, a wild pitch, and RBI single from Bakes
Inside the Box Score:
- Pacella now has 20 home runs this year, second most in a single season for a Redbird
- Redbirds outhit the Sycamores 15-4
- The Redbirds win their first series in Terre Haute since 2018
