The value of travel as a means for individuals to open their minds to other cultures and learn the contribution of citizens from around the globe was impressed upon Hazle Buck Ewing in 1924. It was then that she embarked on an international trek around the world with her husband, Davis, and their oldest son, Ralph. Their 14-month journey covered 22 countries and provided life-changing experiences, which convinced Hazle that everyone desires to live a life of peace and security.
In her writings about the adventure, Hazle noted that “if every world citizen could take the same trip we had taken, there would be no more war.” Davis Ewing took more than 2,500 photos during the 14 months the Ewings traveled the world in the mid-1920’s.
This exhibit is partially underwritten by Wisecracker Design & Wisecracker Studio.
