Dr. Ali Riaz re-elected as AIBS president
Distinguished professor Ali Riaz has been re-elected as the president of the American Institute of Bangladesh Studies (AIBS) for the 2024-2028 term.
Dr. Riaz thanked the Board of Trustees of the AIBS for their confidence in him and expressed his commitment to enhancing the profile of AIBS and contributing to the vibrant Bangladesh studies community in both the United States and Bangladesh during his second term.
AIBS is a consortium of U.S. institutions of higher learning dedicated to promoting scholarly understanding between Bangladesh and the United States. It is the only umbrella organization in the U.S. that unites universities working on and about Bangladesh. AIBS’s membership includes 28 prominent U.S. universities, and the organization has established partnerships with 25 leading universities in Bangladesh.
