Dawn Beichner-Thomas, CJS, was elected to the board of The Alliance of NGOs on Crime Prevention & Criminal Justice.

Presentations

Anthony Piña, Steve Travers, Stephanie Wilson, and Allison Hauser, all from Center for Integrated Professional Development, co-presented “Facilitating Instructional Design, Interactivity and UDL With Your LMS” at the Lincoln Legacy Teach and Learning Conference in May 2025.

Harriett Steinbach, Office of Research and Graduate Studies, and Rachel Waring-Sparking, Center for Civic Engagement, co-presented “Leveraging Assessments to Tell the Story of Campus-Community Relationships” at the International Town-Gown Association Annual Conference in Kent, Ohio, on June 4, 2025.

Dawn Beichner-Thomas, CJS, coordinated, chaired, and co-presented a side event titled, “Centering Victims in a Changing World: Upholding Victims’ Rights Amid Evolving Crimes, at the 34th Session of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (United Nations Offices in Vienna, Austria). She also co-presented “What ails victimology? revisited: Assessing the growth and development of victimology as an academic discipline.”

Bin Lizzo, KNR, co-authored “Changing the World One Mile at a time: Fitness Philanthropy in a Virtual Community” in the International Journal of the Sociology of Leisure, May 2025.

Gabriela Fonseca Pereira, KNR, co-authored “Interdisciplinary Digital Health and Learning Survey Across Speech-Language Pathology, Technology, and Interior Design: Implications for Training in Rehabilitation and Aging-In-Place Practices” in Teaching and Learning in Communication Sciences & Disorders (TLCSD) in June 2025.

Woongsik Choi, TCH, co-authored the chapter “AI-integrated English language teaching in K-12 classrooms: Insights from South Korea” in Rethinking language education in the age of generative AI.

Michael D. Sublett, GEO, published “An Enterprise-Naming Inspiration in the United States: The Geographical Panhandle” in Names: A Journal of Onomastics 73 (Summer 2025): 32-45.

Gabriel Torrealba Alfonzo, ANT, published “Enactive Narrativities: Rubber-Times Historicity and Indigenous Media in Peruvian Amazonia” in the Journal of the Society for the Anthropology of Lowland South America.
