HR news and notes for October 2025
End of calendar year a call for review/update of mailing addresses
As folks look ahead at the end of the year, meaning grade-submission and anticipating holidays and administrative closures, do not forget to review your personal data in iPeople to avoid any tax filing delays in January. Individuals who have elected to receive paper documents will typically see those mailed in January to the “mailing address” within iPeople. Vendor mailings also use this type of address for their document mailing. To update your information between now and the end of the year, you can access a tutorial for updating your mailing address here. More information about year-end preparation will be forthcoming in the next edition of these posts.
Completion of the campus wage program
During his comments to the Board of Trustees in July, President Tarhule announced a 3.5 percent merit-based salary increase for continuous faculty and staff with non-negotiated appointments, effective October 1, 2025. Individuals who qualified for this program should see the final result of the increases in their October 31 pay advice. Additionally, academic employees should have received a “notice of appointment” through campus mail within the past few weeks. Pay increases for employees in bargaining units certified by either the Illinois Education Labor Relations Board (IELRB) or the Illinois Labor Relations Board (ILRB) as of July 25, 2025, are determined through the collective bargaining process and the terms of the applicable contract.
