Christmas at the Mansions, December 14, 2024
Ewing Manor and the David Davis Mansion once again will be part of the popular Christmas at the Mansions tour on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 2-7 p.m.
Tickets are $15 per person in advance and may be purchased at the Casey’s Garden Shop, AB Hatchery, and Hy-Vee or online at David Davis Mansion. Tickets will be sold at each location the day of the event for $20.
This year, in addition to displaying much-loved Gilded Age Christmas decorations which have become community favorites, the David Davis Mansion also will feature three new must-see decorative elements, including: a gleaming all-gold tree which highlights the opulence of the era, an all-floral tree which is inspired by the rich botanical variety and lush color of Sara Davis’ historic 1872 heirloom garden, and an exhibit which focuses on a Christmas visit made by Sarah’s older sister, Lucy Rockwell.
From September 1924–October 1925 the Ewing family took a world tour covering 22 countries. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of this world tour, each room will be decorated to represent a country the Ewings visited. The represented countries will feature photos the Ewings took, artifacts that were purchased, and the holiday traditions.
For additional information, call the David Davis Mansion at (309) 828-1084 or Ewing Manor at (309) 438-6333.
