Nominate Someone for a Student Leadership Award Today!
The Dean of Students Office is excited to announce that Student Leadership Awards nominations are now open! Each year, the Dean of Students Office recognizes Illinois State students for excellence in student leadership and involvement. The following awards are available for nomination:
Ritamae Carroll Memorial First-Year Involvement Award recognizes a first-year student (freshman or transfer) who has been an active member of Illinois State’s campus community while staying in good academic standing. Mike Schermer Outstanding Student Leader Award recognizes a student who has made significant contributions to the Illinois State community and embodies leadership and excellence. Billy Quigley Leader in Action Award recognizes student leaders who have a history of mentoring and guiding their fellow students and have a passion for creating social change at Illinois State.
Award nominees must be currently enrolled undergraduate students in good academic and disciplinary standing. Award recipients will receive an engraved plaque, a monetary scholarship, and formal recognition at the Redbirds Lead Celebration, which is currently scheduled for Thursday, April 18, 2024. Members of the campus community are encouraged to complete the Student Leadership Award Nomination Form by Friday, February 9. Self-nominations are encouraged. Last week, we learned about the three laws in Romans 7:7-25, the law of God, the law of good, and the law of sin (and death). We will continue with the fourth law, the law of the Spirit of Life, in Chapter 8:1 - 6.
