Event Management, Dining and Hospitality (EMDH) will be hosting dinner and a movie from 5-9 p.m. on Halloween night in Braden Auditorium.
EMDH will be showing “Five Nights at Freddy's," as well as offering pasta, meatballs, garlic knots, salad, taffy apples and drinks.
EMDH Hospitality Coordinator Kacy Rader discussed the differences between this year’s event and last year’s event.
“Last year was our first time doing a dinner and a movie event, and we have taken those events and the feedback to expand on the experience this year,” Rader said.
“We are moving the event to the Braden Auditorium stage this year to give students the unique opportunity to eat and watch the movie on stage,” Rader continued. “Most students don't get to be on stage or sometimes have not been in Braden, so this is a very unique experience.”
In addition, EMDH Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications Samantha Schultz said that there will be a backstage tour before the movie.
“We will be offering a tour of the backstage of Braden, including all of the signed past event posters and the Signature Room, where past event artists have signed,” Schultz said. “We think this will amplify the student experience and give them something that is out of the norm to do.”
Schultz said she hopes students enjoy the event.
“We know Halloween is a big night for many events, and we hope this one gives students something to do that plays into the day and also is a safe, fun event,” Schultz said.
Rader discussed the movie choice.
“We decided to lean into Halloween this year and are doing a scary movie. We will play ‘Five Nights at Freddy's,’ the original version. I am excited to see how students like this [movie] compared to past ones,” Rader said.
EMDH is hosting another event on the same day.
“We also have Wicked Wonderland happening right before the movie that includes a haunted village, DIY candy jars, stuff-a-plush and more. Students can attend both for free,” Rader said.
Students must RSVP through the Redbird Life website.
