Week 8 IHSA Football Recap

NORMAL, Ill. -Week 8 of IHSA football in Bloomington/Normal was an old fashioned shootout.
Normal Community had another very impressive performance against Centennial this week, winning 56-6. This improves the Ironmen’s record to 7-1 and still undefeated in conference play. This Friday the Ironmen go on the road to take on Peoria in the last game of the regular season at 7 p.m.
Bloomington fell to the Peoria Lions 42-14, making it their third loss in a row. The Purple Raiders’ record falls to 5-3, with slim playoff hopes still alive. They will need to beat Centennial this Friday at 7 p.m on the road to stay in the playoff run.
Bloomington Central Catholic continues to display their offensive fire power and dominance. On Friday October 17th, the Saints defeated Pontiac 48-21 to improve their record to 8-0. They look to maintain the perfect record this Friday at home against Prairie Central at 7 p.m.
Normal West won another high scoring battle against Champaign Central 34-14. This improves their win streak to 4 games, and their record is now 6-2. Their final regular season is this Friday at 7 p.m at home against Urbana. The Wildcats look to finish strong and go into the playoffs on a high note.
Normal University had another huge win against Springfield Southeast, 50-14. This improves their record to 4-4, and keeps their playoff hopes alive. They have a big matchup this Friday against Lanphier at home.
