This is a developing situation. WZND will update this story as new information is released

NORMAL, Ill – The ISU Police Department released an emergency alert to all of campus at 7:55 p.m.,  stating that shots had been fired at the Bone Student Center. There is one reported victim with a non-life threatening gunshot wound. The victim is not a ISU student.

As of 9:24 p.m., the ISU campus is no longer under a shelter-in-place order.

An update released at 8:16 p.m. advised the public to steer clear of Locust and University St., just northwest of the Bone Student Center. Further updates have described a suspect as a slender black male, 5’10”, with a black afro hairstyle and wearing all black.  The suspect was last seen running south from the Bone Student Center.

This person(s) may be armed or dangerous and potentially an immediate threat to the area. ISU PD instructs everyone to exercise as much caution as possible by being aware of their surroundings and notifying 911 of any suspicious behavior.
