On an opening day that had two different lightning delays, the Illinois State men's golf team had student-athletes that have played between 23 and 27 holes before darkness set in, setting up a final day with the remaining holes in the 54-hole event.

The busy start to the 2025-26 season continues on Monday and Tuesday, as the Illinois State men's golf team competes in its third event of the fall season as the squad travels north to Madison, Wisconsin, to compete in the Badger Invitational, the 18th time that ISU has played in a Wisconsin-hosted fall event.

Using a career-low tournament from Pietro Pontiggia, in addition to the fourth-best team score in the field on the final day, the Illinois State men's golf team finished in 10th place among a strong field at the 2025 Ram Masters Invitational, hosted by Colorado State.

Behind a strong pair of rounds from TJ Barger and Pietro Pontiggia, the Illinois State Redbirds climbed late in the first day, and head into the final 18 holes within striking distance of a strong finish.
