Illinois State Athletics has announced a campaign to raise funds for the naming of the softball field at Marian Kneer Stadium to Melinda Fisher Field. The "Melinda Fischer Field" fund will be used to support expenses related to the enhancement of the Redbird softball program, which may include field improvements, locker room enhancements, sports specific technology and professional development for student-athletes.

Illinois State softball head coach Tina Kramos has announced her program's 2025 schedule, which features several games against Power Five foes and contests with seven teams that made 2024 NCAA tournament appearances. The Redbirds are set to participate in five preseason tournaments before beginning Missouri Valley Conference play on the road March 14 at Southern Illinois.

Illinois State softball has announced the addition of Rachel O'Malley as an Assistant Coach to round out the coaching staff of Head Coach, Tina Kramos, Assistant Coach, Elaine Heflin, and Assistant Coach Kristina Burkhardt.

For the third consecutive year, Illinois State Softball has earned within the top five cumulative team grade point average among NCAA Division I softball programs posting a 3.779 for the 2023-24 academic year as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and Easton Fastpitch.
