Playing on a difficult course in a loaded field, the Illinois State women's golf team closed the first day at the Inverness Intercollegiate, hosted by the University of Toledo.

The Illinois State women's golf team heads into uncharted territory this week, traveling to Toledo, Ohio, to compete in the Inverness Intercollegiate as 12 schools make the trip to the historic Inverness Club for the two-day, 54-hole event.

Using a career-low round of 72 from junior Reagan Kennedy, the Illinois State women's golf team climbed two spots into a tie of sixth place at the 2025 Redbird Invitational, hosted at Weibring Golf Club on Sunday and Monday.

Behind a 36-hole standing of fourth place from Elise Fennell, the Illinois State women's golf team opened the first day of their home Redbird Invitational in eighth place and within climbing distance over the final 18 holes of the tournament.
