The School of Creative Technologies will host STEAM camps for middle-schoolers the week of July 7-11! There are 3 camps, Board Game Design, AMP! Music Production, and Art-Fight Illustration, hosted on the campus of Illinois State University!

Register Now! Summer Camps for Middle Schoolers entering grades 6-8Embark on a creative journey as you take control of your musical world. Gain skills in recording, mixing, and mastering, while exploring both live instrument recording and virtual instrument creation. Explore recording using various microphones. Collaborate with fellow musicians in a guided workshop led by a music production expert. On the final day, you will receive a copy of your song to share with friends and family, and your music may be played on WGLT, part of the NPR Network, during their music program, Highway 309. Register now!

STEAM Summer Camp for Students entering grades 6-8!Learn the basics of game design as you explore what makes games ‘work’ and how they affect the players that interact with them. Work in a small group to brainstorm ideas, create prototypes, and test your designs. Leave class having built your own board game while gaining hands-on experience with the game design process. Register now!

Register Now for Summer Camps for Middle-Schoolers entering Grades 6-8!Art Fight is a friendly competition held every July where team of artists compete by drawing each other’s characters in their own style. In this camp, we will run our own mini version of the global phenomenon. Join a team, draw original or existing characters, and launch ‘attacks’ on the opposition by turning their work into your own style. The more you trade, the more points you earn! Camp sessions will involve learning more about character design concepts and sketching as well as supervised work time to develop ideas. Register Now!

The event will begin with a tour of Repetitions, an exhibition of selected works from University Galleries’ permanent collection. Participants will then learn introductory relief printmaking techniques to create an artwork that utilizes repetition. Participation is free and materials will be provided. Registration is required.
