A recent agreement to resume student loan debt forgiveness programs by the Trump Administration is being set in place. With this agreement, millions of students nation wide will be benefit. Despite this, the department of education will most likely delay processing times for current students looking for forgiveness.
The agreement is a result between the American Federation of Teachers, and the Department of Education being settled. Due to this, millions of students who borrowed money will get debt relief.
Although this decision does not impact any current Illinois State students, the re-opening of the loan forgiveness program will allow future students all across the country to enter college on a rapayment plan, and receive loan forgiveness.
