- New Student Art Displayed at Julian HallThe art gallery in Julian Hall has opened with an all new display featuring pieces created by Illinois State students. On Tuesday, September 23, the new exhibit was opened, officially putting five students’ work on display. - 1% Grocery Tax Stays in Place for Bloomington ResidentsIllinois Governor JB Pritzker announced that the state will be removing the 1% grocery tax, starting January 1st. However, municipalities in the state are allowed to implement their own 1% tax to keep revenues whole. The corner of Beaufort Street and Broadway Avenue is now a permanent four-way stop following safety concerns voiced by the community. - Library RenovationThe normal public library has officially reopened after a lengthy renovation. The 16-month long project wrapped up this summer, finally allowing library patrons of all ages to return. The renovation itself dealt with replacing and rebuilding a great deal due to asbestos.
