Indian Student Association Invites Campus to Celebrate Diwali

Illinois State University’s Indian Student Association (ISA) is preparing to bring students together for one of it’s biggest cultural events of the semester. Diwali Night on November 7. The celebrations will include traditional Indian food, dancing, games, and activities. The event is open to all of ISU.

ISA aims to create a welcoming environment for Indian students while also sharing culture with the broader campus community.

“Our primary goal is to have a home away from home for Indian students.” aid ISA President Jenna Mohammed. “But we’re open to anyone, not just Indian students.”

The organization hosts multiple cultural events throughout the year. ISA meetings are held in the International Room in Hewett-Manchester.

“It’s one of the biggest RSOs on campus, so we host lots of fun events throughout the semester,” Kalidindi said. “And we have one coming up next week Diwali Night.”
