Illinois State University students had the chance to make a lifesaving impact this week during a campus blood drive hosted by ImpactLife on the Quad. The event, held on Thursday, September 18, aimed to encourage student engagement while supporting local hospitals like OSF and Carle BroMenn, which receive all of their blood products from ImpactLife.

“Your blood could help an individual that needs your help here in your community,” said Erin Klasing, an ImpactLife donor relations intern and president of Redbirds ImpactLife. Klasing also organizes ISU’s blood drives and works to educate students about the importance of donating. ImpactLife hosts drives nearly every week, and its next event will take place on September 22 from 12 to 4 p.m. in the Rosa Parks Room at Watterson Towers. Students are encouraged to stay hydrated and eat beforehand, especially with the lingering summer heat.
