We Hear a lot of underdog stories in the world of sports, but some really stand out above the rest. Jared Gahm had a master’s degree, but fell on hard times, eventually becoming homeless. We look at Gahm’s battle from the streets to the mats, where he now owns a successful mixed martial arts gym. Gahm hopes his gym will inspire others to personal growth and excellence.

The No. 9 ranked Illinois State hosted No. 25 Youngstown State for their homecoming game this past Saturday. Youngstown came out on top 40-35 in the back-and-forth battle. The Redbirds had a 21-12 lead but YSU quarterback Beau Brunsgard connected with Mike Solomon down the sideline to cut the ISU lead to two.
