On Thursday, ISU held Hats off to Homecoming to celebrate Homecoming week and get students involved in the fun. Samantha Schultz, an event planner for ISU says, “We wanted to incorporate President Tarhule in some way, who is known for his hats that he wears.” The event included games such as minigolf and basketball, as well as photo stations and a walking taco bar. However, the main attraction was the ISU hat pressing station. Appearances included members from WZND providing music, and of course, President Tarhule joined in the fun. “We would hope that we would continue to do some sort of homecoming event. It might not necessarily be hats off to homecoming. Maybe it’ll be something else, but we would love to incorporate different events happening on campus, so you know Family Weekend or Homecoming, it’s fun to do that.” The event was free to students.
