Illinois State men’s basketball remains excited for their 2025-26 campaign

Illinois State men’s basketball starts their regular season campaign this Thursday. Nicholas Thompson from TV-10 was able to catch up with the team ahead of their first game.
Thompson mentioned how the Redbirds come into the season with high expectations after ending last season as the Purple College Basketball Invitational Champions. ISU faced two Big Ten opponents with Illinois and Northwestern in their Pre-season games. Despite the losses, both opponent posed as great experience for the Redbirds.
Sophomore Jack Daugherty spoke on what he is looking forward to the most in the upcoming season.
“Honestly just having fun, we have everyone back basically and that barely happens,” Daugherty said. “Getting another year with those guys stay together, and just have a whole lot of fun is something we looking forward together.”
ISU travel to the University of Ohio this Thursday to take on the Bobcats. They come back to CEFCU Arena on Sunday to face Cornell in their home opener.
