Redbird Spotlight: Get to know Gamma Phi Circus President Megan Koenig | Illinois State University
Megan Koenig, a senior business management major at Illinois State University, found her college home after visiting the Gamma Phi Circus with her sister. Inspired by that first show, she joined the circus herself and now performs in a groundbreaking aerial act, as well as ground acts and dances. Megan describes the circus as a tight-knit family where students support and teach one another, helping her face fears and grow in confidence. Aerial performance has become her “happy place,” offering freedom, peace, and a sense of empowerment. As she prepares for her final show, Megan reflects on the thousands of hours of practice and the deep bonds she’s formed, saying she’ll miss it more than anything.Find tickets for the Friday, April 11, and Saturday, April 12 show here: https://goredbirds.evenue.net/events/GP
